I've used phpBB in the past, and only the administrator can change the size of the posts. |

We have quite an old version of phpBB and it doesn't seem to have any way of editing the maximum size. Also, there are posts that are quite a bit bigger than 4K, I wonder how they managed to post those. |

Can you indicate any very long posts ?
I have noted that the limit does not include the size of graphics (which are links)
The size limit is particularly annoying, as "Preview" does not have the size limit, so it is hard to predict when listing code that the limit deletes the end of the post.
Could it be that the limit applies to the initial posting, so if you edit the post it can grow ? I actually doubt that this is the case, but I will give it a go.

There are some long posts.... however, they don't show correctly on the page which makes me think that the problem might be in display rather than posting. For example on here: http://forums.silverfrost.com/viewtopic.php?t=3630. There seem to be some mysterious 'word counting' routines that control it all. |
