Hi All,

I installed FTN95 Express with Visual Studio 2008 on a new computer under Windows 7 (Home Premium), 64 Bit version.

If I try to test a simple program, consisting 3 simple functions (as separated source files) I got the following error message after 'Start Debugging': "Unable to launch application for this file".

If I now try to edit the main program source code again, VS crashes after a few seconds.

If I remove one of the 3 f90-function (it does not matter which one, they are all simple) the debugging command works.
So, I can debug a simple program with 2 functions, but i'm unable to debug the same program with 3 simple f90-functions. What's going on here ?

Is it a compatibility problem between VS and Windows 7, 64 bit ?

Are there any ideas in the forum how to avoid this frustration ?
Please don't answer 'Use XP again', it's bad enough.

Regards,
Rolanda

Hi,

I found a solution by trial and error:
Apparently I have to choose the platform "Win32" instead of ".NET".
With "Win32" no further problems occured.
Perhaps this is trivial but I still don't know the reason.
