I am running Windows Vista Home Premium SP1.
I have tested your code from Plato and from a command line using /DEBUG, then /CHECK, then /CHECKMATE then non of these.
On the command line I just used /LINK with one of the above switches to create an executable. |

Well, my notebook is running Vista Home Basic SP1 and on the command line using /LINK, the executable shows the same problem as reported. This means that there is something in the notebook that is disturbing the compiler. The case is closed. The nottebook is the guilty but I cannot send it to the London Tower as it is the only one I have! I will use it for writting and testing the program and use the desktop for running the optimised executable. Thanks a lot Paul for your help!

Agustin,
I've been following your posts and find the problem to be difficult to understand.
If it was XP, I'd suggest that in a cmd.exe box you use the command:-
set > settings.tce
Then compare this to your other pc that does work, or list it on the forum, less any security settings. You should check all the settings that are relevant to F95 and also the order of entries in the PATH setting. (See fvars.bat in the FTN95 directory)
I'm not aware of the changes from XP to Vista that are relevant here. Did you make FTN95 accessible to all users when you installed ?

John,
I was very bussy checking my program. Now I can say: the release version of the program hangs when I try to run it in my notebook running Vista Home Basic, but...the same exe file runs fine in my desktop running XP SP2 (by the way: the exe file was produced in the notebook). FTN95 is OK and my notebook likely has something preinstalled that produces a conflict with the release version of my programs. If I find the cause of such problem I will inform it to this forum. But for the moment I have not too much time for research what my notebook has, particularly considering that the rest of the software performs ok. By the way: FTN95 was installed accesible to all users in the notebook and I do not understand what do you mean when you say to run ' set > settings.tce'. But anyway, thanks for your comments.
