ACCESS VIOLATION FOR SDBG in VISTA

5 Feb 2008 6:55 #2739

Paul

Thanks for your speedy reply to my last question. I have experimented a bit more and the problem appears to occur when the lgotemp@.exe is automatically submitted to c:\program files\salford software\ftn95\sdbg.exe. This generates an Access Violation notice which says' Instruction at address 10041a18 attempted to read from location 843709b8.'

I have also generated an EXE using the linker and then activated SDBG by clicking on the icon . This half works creating the right windows but with incorrect values.

I believe that this is a minor problem which could be resolved by making VISTA allow the submission of lgotemp@.exe to SDBG-how can this be done?

I note your suggestion that I upgrade to 5.10 to resolve this problem. If I use 5.10pe will this overwrite my 4.50 which is a full version. What changes have been added between 4.50 and 5.10?

It appears that other people have reported problems when using SDBG under Vista. Please await further information on this.

Hi Martin

There are issues with SDBG and Vista and I am hoping they are fixed now, you can download the latest debugger from here: http:///www.silverfrost.com/public_downloads/debugger.zip

I think it will still work with version 4.50 executables, please make a back up of your original copy.

You cannot upgrade by installing the Personal Edition, your copy would revert to the Personal Edition, although you could install it elsewhere to try. The revision history is here http://www.silverfrost.com/19/ftn95/support/ftn95_revision_history.asp
