.NET thread safe?

9 Dec 2007 11:02 #2489

Dear Paul,

a customer asks if programs that are created for .NET with FTN95 are thread safe? I remember last time I asked you this question regarding Win32 .exe generated with FTN95 vv?. Has this changed meanwhile? Please let us know. Thank you. Kind regardds, Jörg Kuthe www.qtsoftware.de

Yes FTN95 is thread safe.

For multi-threading under .NET you will need to use the DBKLINK command line option /MULTI_THREADED.

You will understand that thread safety is also the responsibility of the programmer who must ensure that appropriate data locks are used when necessary etc.
