Salford run-time library error

22 Mar 2007 10:07 #1818

Sometime ago I created an FTN95 program calling Simpleplot routines for one of our Professors, which was working fine. He has now moved to a new PC and on there the program, after writing out some text output but before displaying graphical output, is producing the error message:

Salford run-time Library This application has exhausted the available virtual memory Fatal run-time error

Please advise on what may be causing this. Is it some setting on his new PC that needs to be changed? Thank you.

probably a windows setting on the new machine

virtual memeory is setting where data is spooled to hard drive when ram is full.

there is a setting to adjust this in XP

go to my computer → properties → advanced

click on performance-> settings

go to advanced then go into the virtual memory dialog

extend the amount of virtual memory available and try again

has this new PC got very little RAM?

as it is an unusual error these days given the amount of RAM available compared to the old days.

It appears that an old version of salflibc.dll is being used. It is recommended that the user upgrade to the latest version of FTN95. This will include the latest version of salflibc.dll.

Thanks again for your help, Paul. Just using the latest salflibc.dll without rebuilding has worked for the user.

Zahid.
