This question relates to Fortran 77 and the block IF construct.

If you are using Plato then you will find a Fortran 77 tutorial in the Help part of the main menu bar. There is also another tutorial on Fortran 90/95.

You will find it a lot quicker if you first work through these two tutorials.

You should also take a look at the FTN95 startup video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7P8vPlCPxuk&t=19s.
