Is it 'cos it's Windows 10?

Paul,

Here is the briefest demonstrator I can create:

      WINAPP
      OPTIONS (INTL, DREAL)
      PROGRAM HELL_P
C     --------------
      INCLUDE <WINDOWS.INS>
      A  = 1.0
      IW = WINIO@ ('%ca[Illustration of help]&')
      IW = WINIO@ ('%bh&', 1)
      IW = WINIO@ (' Parameter A  %?rf[initially_blank]'//
     &             '[Put a value for A here]&', A)
      IW = WINIO@ ('%2nl%rj%8bt[Accept]')
      END

The pop-up help has a black rectangle background instead of being transparent, and so looks awful.

As it happens, a workaround (improvement?) is to use %th with the balloon option instead of %bh.

Only Win32 tested.

Eddie

PS: When I was younger, so much younger than today, I never needed popup help in any way .... etc

Perhaps you are using an old version of ClearWin+. %bh now defaults to the Microsoft 'bubble' rather than the native one which had become broken with advancing versions of Windows.

Hi Paul,

Not that ancient: 8.50 (well, not as ancient as me).

Need I say more than it would be good to have the CWPLUS.ENH files - I did look at the revision history online and didn't see a mention there.
