I find I cannot delete a block of data in Plato3. None of Ctrl X, Del, cut icon, Edit-cut will delete the selected block; a copy is made onto the clipboard but the original block is left in the source file. What can I do?

I can delete single characters using delete and then save the new file.
Selecting blocks in differents ways (dragging mouse or using shift & arrow keys) makes no difference.
Overtyping and adding new text is OK.

Delete should fail if the selection includes collapsed (outlined) text otherwise I do not know what is going wrong.
What operating system are you using? Does it make any difference if the selection is within a line or goes beyond the end of the line?

Can I re-install Plato3 without uninstalling FTN95 first?

You cannot install Plato separately. I suggest you upgrade to version 4.80 or use the service pack for 4.71. The service pack will be relatively quick to install.
