Old style (column 6 character) extension of statement longer

29 Sep 2018 12:39 #22602

My voluminous code also has a lot of statement that are larger than col 72 and extended with the legacy method of a character in column 6 of a next line (which extends the statement). ftn95 generates compile errors. Is there an option that tells the compiler to adhere to the legacy standard for this isue?

If the program end with the extent .for, then the FORTRAN col 6 works just fine.

If you name the routines .f95, for example, it assumes a different format.

Also, under the Project Options, select Source and deselect 'Allow Wide Source' if it is selected.

Or use the compiler option /FIXED_FORMAT, if the file extension isn't .FOR or .F
