win XP Silverfrost Fortan installation error 1304

When I try to install Silverfrost Personal Edition FORTRAN to an old Toshiba PA3489U Satellite 32b windows XP machine, i get the following error half way through the installation :

'Error 1304 writing FTN95lib.dll Verify that you have access to that directory'

I do log on with administrator privileges, the machine works fine otherwise, and I have also tried to install from DOS with same results .

Any hints will be greatly appreciated

FTN95lib.dll is for .NET only so if you are not using .NET and other files have installed correctly then you should be OK.

If you need to correct the problem then check that you have .NET installed on your machine. The installation process should have handled this but if you can install .NET separately then this might fix the problem. .NET is a Microsoft add-on.

Updating from .NET 1.1 to the current 3.5 version resolved this error.

Now FTN95 installs normally
