Exponential to decimal form

I need to convert exonential number into decimal form in fortran.This is not for a 'write' statement but for another purpose.

That is: 7.5E-2 to 0.0075 , please can anyone help?

This is needed because I am converting to a character and my routine for conversion is not recognising the exponential. I do not have means to alter my character conversuion routine as I do not have access to it for some reasons. Please advise how can I send a decimmal form number to that routine and not exponential form. Please help urgent
