Old code in FTN95

Hello everyone,

I have a question about compiling fortran code in FTN95 using Plato3 editor. The code is quite large, having original part in it with F77 syntax and recently written what works with F95.

Is there a compiler option that would allow to have such multiple syntax in code? Maybe there is a thread already discussing it?

Plato recognise automatically if you have FTN77 and FTN95 code in the project. You can add source files to your Plato project as follows: 1.) FTN77 has .for or .f extensions while 2.) FTN95 has .f90 or .f95 extensions.

Fortran 77 is fixed format Fortran only Fortran 90 etc accepts both fixed and free format Fortran.

FTN95 is a Fortran 95 compiler that accepts either fixed or free format. It the file extension is .for, FTN95 assumes fixed format. If it is .f90 or .f95 it assumes free format.

Alternatively there is are command line switches /fixed and /free that specify the format.
