Using Plato3, wrote my Fortran file and the project file to a CD. When I open the project file on the CD from Plato3 and try to execute, the system says' Error opening file'. Is this because Plato 3 has to write information to the project file and it cannot due to the fact that the project file is on a CD? Sid Kraft
CD
You are correct. You cannot use a CD for this purpose.
Sid,
If you want to use external storage for your files, why not use a USB device like a solid-state drive or a mini hard drive? Reading CDs is easy, by writing to them comparatively tedious. I found a laptop with neither a floppy nor a CD almost unusable until USB drives came along - which changed things for me. Now I appreciate the weight saving.
