|
|
Dear Fortran Aficionados,,
Can someone tell me how to pass along modules to be linked
by a user's code without giving away my source code for those
modules. I want to make math routines freely available to and
usable by others, but wish to kkep the source code to myself.
How to do this?
Thanks,
Ludwig |

The usual approach is to create an FTN95 DLL.
Alternatively you could create a static library or simply ship your .obj files.
If your modules are Fortran modules then you will need to ship the relevant .mod files and your users will have to use the FTN95 compiler.
If you avoid using Fortran modules then it may be possible to use your libraries with other compilers (not necessarily Fortran) particularly if you use the F_STDCALL keyword when declaring your subprograms. |

Dear Sir,
Thus far I have simply compiled and run using PLATO.
So all this DLL material is a bit over my head. Is there
any good manual on how to do what you said with the
DLL?
With many thanks
