If I use the ' Check for FTN Update' I get an error.
Maybe our firewall is blocking, I don't know.

You need to login to the site -- the auto update does not work. If you do not have the details email your licence information to ftn95@silverfrost.com and we will look into it.

Hi All

I have dowloaded the new personal edition to evaluate integration with VS 2005. It works (in that I can compile a ftn95 in vs2005) but I get no syntax highlighting I used to get syntax highlighting VS 2003 on our old commercial license. Is there some setting I need to change?

Have you lost anything else other than syntax highlighting? For example - do you get the dropdown bars at the top of the code window - these are handled by the same component as the syntax highlighting.

These language features also will only work on specific file extensions, namely: .f90, .f95 and .for - are you using any other extension?

Hi I have fixed the syntax problem

it was due to the having previously attempted to get fortran integrated an I had the wrong editor associated with .f95 files may be this should be overwritten as part of the install or at least an option?

A second problem I have found is that the new items menu doesn't work

I create a new application

I add some code the defualt.f95 file.

I then try and add a second new source file by right clicking on the source folder

then Add..->New Item

I just get a completely blank menu with no templates.

the existing menu appears to work,

also how do I specify command line arguments when debuging

This has been caused by a registry issue with the plugin installer. The registry fix linked to below will fix it. A new build will be released soon as Paul suggested in another thread after we have made sure all breaking issues are solved. The default associations will also be forced in the new build.

The folder location is the source of the problem. If you open the .reg file in notepad (or any other text editor) and edit the path contained in the file to:

"TemplatesDir"="C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Silverfrost\\Silverfrost FTN95 for Visual Studio 2005\\Ftn95PrjProjectItems"

and then merge the .reg file then all should work fine for you. An updated installer containing the fix will be issued in due course.
