Is FTN95, version 8.70.0.0 fully compatible with the Windows 11 operating system? If not, which later versions of FTN95, if any, are compatible with Windows 11?

Works great!

There are no known issues with Windows 11 and FTN95 is fully supported for this operating system.

There have been several revisions of the compiler and tools that were made available and these are more recent than the version 8.70 that you have, "dfwlms". See the sticky thread at the top of the Support subforum, http://forums.silverfrost.com/viewtopic.php?t=4245 .

I have a few Windows 11 users complaining that my app causes problems - usually when opening a file. I am now using the new %cd format code rather than get_filtered_file@ and wonder whether this may be causing any of the problems.

simon, can you describe the problem they are having?

I've used both extensively. They differ only in the way that, internally, the file name is asked for. Once the file name is supplied, there isn't an issue. I will say there are nuances to using %cd that one needs to be cognizant of when developing a "wrapper" to surround the %cd use(s).

Hi Bill,
One user is getting an error message from the Fortran open command. I'm not 100% certain, but am guessing this is the error message 146 that you commented on before:
https://forums.silverfrost.com/viewtopic.php?t=3314&highlight=
I have asked them to check whether they have dropbox running. Another user simply said the app hung, but ran ok again when he restarted it. That could be anything! Anyway, I'm going to try your idea of repeated attempts at reopening of the file ...
Thanks,
Simon

Paul, you write, that Windows 11 and ftn95 work together without problems. What about the underflow issue for Windows 11 version 24H2 (see support, Problem with ftn95 v 9.95)? Has this issue been solved?

Please see http://forums.silverfrost.com/viewtopic.php?t=5045.

The latest release of FTN95 for supported users is v9.10. In this release Win32 underflows are masked by default which means that Win32 underflows no longer cause a problem. Earlier versions of FTN95, when used with Win32 and Windows 11 24H2 require a call to mask_underflows@().
