Does anybody else occasionally see the appearance of a strange character when editing IF / ELSE IF constructions?

For example, at line 509 in the attached, immediately after changing "else" to "else if", I see what appears to be a Chinese character on the left.

I have been aware of this for some time - it's not a real issue, but I see that it still occurs with the most recent version of Plato, so I wonder if anybody else has spotted this odd behavior?
