I installed VS 2019 Community Edition just fine. Then installed SF FTN95 afterwards. It asked me about integrating with VSCE and I said yes.

Silverfrost FTN95 V 2.0.0.0 shows in the list of installed products for VS Help About.

Options/Text Editor does show Fortran77 and Fortran95.

FTN95-VS shows in the installed extensions as enabled.

Yet when trying to create a project, Fortran is not a language choice and I can find no way to create a new Fortran project. There are no Fortran project templates.

Any suggestions? What am I missing? Thx!

Did you set 'Allow synchronous autoload'?

No that was not set, but setting that, and restarting VSCE did not change anything. Still no Fortran templates. And I did verify that setting was set after restarting.

Is there some exe or dll that can be used to reregister the FTN95 extension?

Dave

You can try reinstalling the plug-in. They are at:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Silverfrost\FTN95\plugins\ftn95 for visual studio.exe

Uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin did not work.
I uninstalled everything and reinstalled again and creating a new project is now working for some reason, with a couple minor issues: FTN95 still does not show in the languages drop down on VS2019 CE when creating a new project so you have to scroll or search to find the FTN95 templates on subsequent VS open after the first where the templates are listed as new at the top of the template list. Subsequent opens put them at the bottom of the template list. And after creating a FTN95 application project, it does not show in the list of solutions for "This Week" next time VS is started up.

But at least I can create a Fortran project now. Thx!

Is there anyway to mark this closed or solved?

... or even 'partially solved' !

I'd suggest you contact M$ and ask them about any known bugs in VS that could be causing your problem.

Let us know here how you get on.
