I would love to use SCION, but it has an odd behavior.
If I open the application, make my changes, then save, I can save the icon.
If, however, I want to create another icon, i cannot save it; I must exit the program and start it over. Similarly, if I decide to clear my changes and start over ('New'), I cannot save my work.
Any hopes? I'm offering to do the free work to fix it if that would be of help. |

SCION is a ClearWin+ application and as such illustrates what can be achieved using ClearWin+. But it's not an up-to-date image editor and there are no plans to do any further work on it.
Plato provides better image editing facilities but, there again, Plato image editing is not a match for other free image editors that are available on the internet.
I tend to use either Microsoft Paint or Visual Studio for image editing but others may have better recommendations. |

Paul, thanks for that. I'll look elsewhere. |

Searching on the website produces no results _________________ ''Computers (HAL and MARVIN excepted) are incredibly rigid. They question nothing. There really isn't any. Plato has an icon editor. But there are limitations (HELP file has a good description).
I downloaded and am happy with the Greenfish Icon Editor (at http://greenfishsoftware.org/). It is pretty easy to use; it took me a while to get used to the user interface. It's a lot like Adobe Photoshop or Gimp, but trimmed down so a lot easier to use. It has layer capability, which I like. The price is perfect (zero). |
