I found myself staring at the SilverFrost logo today for a few seconds and I wondered what is the 'origin' of the name of the company, as it doesn't have any obvious relationship with Fortran, or any kind of programming for that matter ?

The truth is: it is just a name. The company was formed as an off-the-shelf company. There was a list of about 16 names to choose from: Silverfrost was the nicest.
