Eddie, To make sure - does Simpleplot work without manual compatibility change?

Also, was it worth upgrading to Win10 ? And, typically there were always problems with Windows till the Service Pack 1 or even 2, was everything OK?

OK Dan, After 2 extremely slow and lengthy updates, Win 10 seems to work as well as Win 7 with the simpleplot program I posted. It just didn't work the day that Win 10 announced that it was running for the first time. But then Cortana didn't work at first, saying my laptop was incompatible, and now Cortana and I chat away like old friends!

I find both Win 8 and Win 10 to be less visually appealing than predecessor versions. Both contain a whole load of useless junk, which combined with the junk you get with a new laptop has reached the point of getting in the way.
