Currently we can load BMP files into Array(3,hres,vres) for further processing like this
call get_dib_block@(BMPfile, Array, hres,vres,0,0,hres,vres,0,0,ier)
It works fine but we always need to convert files to old fat BMP no one uses anymore. Would be nice to be able to load lossless formats like PNG as well as some other popular formats like JPG |

Would be great to have that feature.
It will mean some more work for you to add also
SCREEN_BLOCK_TO_PNG,
EXPORT_PNG,
PNG_TO_SCREEN_BLOCK
