If you create a program that writes to the screen with standard Fortran I/O then the text will go to a console window. If the program then exits the console window also closes and your results disappear.

Solution
There are a few solutions to this, the most simple is to add a PAUSE statement to the end of your program. Alternatively you can open a console window yourself and run the program explicitly. The output will then write into your open console. You use the 'cd' command to move to the directory your program is in and the program name itself to run it. For example if your program is called simul.exe and in the 'c:\my progssim' directory you would type:

Code:

c:
cd "my progssim"

to move the console to the directory and:

Code:

simul

to run the program. You can debug the program, providing you have compiled the program with a debug option by typing

Code:

sdbg simul
