If your file has a .for extension then you need to create a file association with FTN95 rather than FTN77 (the default). After opening the file in Plato, go to the file menu, click on 'file associations..' and move the file extensions from the FTN77 box to the FTN95 box. All files with a .for extension, or any other file extension you place in the FTN95 box, will be compiled using FTN95.
