Hello I am trying to run dislin with ftn95

but everytime I try to link the exa_f90.f90 file I get an access violation message

this is all done in the comand window

the first thing I do is

ftn95 -c dislin

and that works just fine.

THen I type

f95link -a exa_f90

then it pops out a gray screen with 'access violation'

any suggestions?

thanks

If you download the correct package (for the Salford compiler), and then unzip the file. You just run setup.exe to compile and install dislin.

Hello bluemech !

For a month, I look for a "understandable" graphic environment to draw orbits of comets calculated with FORT95.
I saw Clearwin , Simdem, but I also noticed the DISLIN software, which appears to be more "intuitive".

I thus downloaded the version for Salford, I made what is indicated in the "readme.sf" and in the FAQ of the Dislin site , etc.... Then, I wanted to execute the first given example: the draw of SIN and COS.

And there, tilt : I have too a message with " access violation ".
As you have had the same diagnosis, were you able to solve the problem?

Thank you in advance for any answer or any link on this subject Smile

Cordially
Sospel

Hello,

Assuming you have got DISLIN installed properly:

c:\dislin

You need to ensure that the compile command line option is set to:

/MOD_PATH c:\dislin <------ sometimes this does not work!

and you have added the reference to the 32bit library for the build (if running from Plato) - diss32.lib

That should build and compile the examples.

I have noticed, however, that even if I have the envrionment variable set as DISLIN=c:\dislin it quite often fails to see the module file and so I have to copy the module to the program directory. Seems to be a bit random.

Generally speaking it will work with a bit of tweaking.

Cheers
Lester
