I prefer an IDE like Plato rather than Visual Studio incantations.
However, I do miss the thumbwheel support; I am frequently in the middle of a source file with the mouse, editing, and it is so convenient to scroll in the file with the mouse thumbwheel - rather than the scroll bar at the side. The scroll bar takes a lot more hand motion.
My opinion.

The thumb wheel action is included but you need to click on the text first to position the text caret. |

After I posted that, I thought gee, it must be there somewhere.
Whoever wrote that (Plato), thanks. Just what is needed.
