Is there a way to make write to regular unit = number or unit = screen, just by chnaging unit number. In other words, do Salford has some hidden unit number which is equivalent to * as in write(*,format)
Unit 6 sometimes does notwork as print on screen i.e. unit=* probably due to simultaneous use and conflicts of unit 6 and unit=*
Does FTN95 has unit 0 like in Unixes ? |

FTN95 recognise units 1 and 2, and 5 and 6 for standard IO unless you use these numbers for something else. Programmers are advised to use unit values of 7 or above. There is no special meaning to the value 0 that I know of (if, indeed, it is allowed). |
