When using %`cu to set the cursor for the next control, an integer parameter is required. Examination of Windows.Ins shows that the named constants listed in FTN95.CHM simply correspond to numbers (I knew that anyway). I thought that I might look for the "forefinger press" icon. I found that low number integers get some interesting results. Between 3 and 61 the odd number integers give some old favourites and some new ones - all the even numbers give the standard arrow cursor.

3, 13 and 15 produce a cursor that looks like a miniature "Window" - 13 produces a small version of this.

5, 7, 9, 11 produce the standard icons one gets with %si - quite big, and very 3D in Windows XP.

19 to 31 produce old favourites.

35 produces a North-South-East-West four headed arrow (also 32646 - see below)
37 gives a "no entry sign" (32648)
39 the standard cursor with an hourglass (32650)
41 the standard cursor and a question mark (32647)
43 a pen
45 the forefinger press (hooray!!!) (32649)
47 concentric squares
49 the standard cursor and a CD (32663)
53 what looks like a fancy MS comfort keyboard
61 (bizarre) Coreldraw 12 icon !!!!!

It then occurred to me that I could devote the rest of my life to this, and so I went straight to the 32 000's where I found some of the cursors repeated (see the numbers in brackets above) - looking around the numbers listed in Windows.Ins.

Between 32652 and 32662 there is an interesting (but useless) series of cursors with a circle in the middle and with from 1 to 4 arrow head triangles at various orientations.

My curiosity now sated, especially with the prospect of looking at 4x10^9 possibilities AND having found the forefinger press cursor, I have decided to leave it at that. Someone may be interested in my chance discoveries.

Incidentally, I found that CURSOR_SIZE (32640) didn't work as advertised.

Hi Eddie,

in some applications I also use standard cursors from Windows. You find a lot of cursors here: c:\windows\cursors. Just add them to the resource file (hand CURSOR c:\windows\cursors\hmove.cur) and use them with %cu[hmove], for instance.

Regards,
Wilfried

Dear Wilfried,

... I imagine that some of these cursors belong to other applications installed on my PC. I hadn't thought to look there.
