I have a full licence for FTN95 for .NET v.3.0, and MS Visual Studio 2002. I want to evaluate Visual Clearwin before deciding on an upgrade. Can I load just the VC DLL from the new FTN95 PE, or do I have to install the entire FTN95 personal - and would this cause any conflicts with the FTN95 that I already have ?

Also, would it be necessary to upgrade the MS Visual Studio ? As it's purely for evaluation at this stage, would the free MS C# Express be sufficient ? (and again - would this conflict with the production environment of MS VS 2002 ?).

Lots of questions - but I don't want to run the risk of disabling my existing system.

The simplest approach may be to download the latest personal edition but to install into a different folder (not the default). Take a copy of the PATH environment variable before installing so that this can be restored if and when necessary. You can do your evaluation on the PE edition and then revert to the older version by restoring the PATH.

Also if you need to revert to the older FTN95lib.dll then you will find this in the original "Redist" sub-folder and this can be reinstalled in the GAC.
