Please have a look on the two pictures, especially on the x-scale.
Both are done with the same settings:
upper picture: Code: | CALL winop@("%pl[x_min=0.,x_max=5.]")
CALL winop@("%pl[dx=0.5,dy=0.1]")
|
lower picture: Code: | CALL winop@("%pl[x_min=0.,x_max=3.0]")
CALL winop@("%pl[dx=0.5,dy=0.1]")
|
Why the upper x-scale has a 0.45-step and not a 0.5-step ??? |

I agree that does not look right. Is it possible to send me the code and the data?
I am assuming that you are using w recent version of ClearWin+. |

I'm using FTN95 V8.4 licensed.
I've tried to send the code of the subroutine (180 lines) with the [code]-markers, but this failed.
Exists a line limit?
How the code can be transferred? |

FK,
Try https://wetransfer.com/, or sign up to DropBox. WeTransfer is simple and quick. There's a fairly short limit on the length of a post in the Forum.

we've never had a solution to this longstandng problem of post max length have we.
A solution seems to inolve an administratr just changing a parameter, can't this be done easily and if not why ? _________________ ''Computers (HAL and MARVIN excepted) are incredibly rigid. Eddie,
your link above has an erroneous full stop at the end !
Correct link is: https://wetransfer.com/
Looking at the Konowledge Base for thee service it seems that any uploaded files are only kept for 7 days with the free service.
To me personally that would seem inappropriately short for a forum like this and I'd suggest Dropbox or similar is a better option to 'kep the post going' for moe than a week (apart from those who might have aleady downloaded the file) of course.
And of course the good 'ol tried and trusted (if frustrating) multi-posted listing
(it would be useful to know what the current limit is), say for code listing ìs of up to 4 comments max (based on experience I don't think anyone has ever exceeded that)
.... or max 10 lines in Paul's case (this is a joke) _________________ ''Computers (HAL and MARVIN excepted) are incredibly rigid. They question nothing. to answer FKGER's question, it's all in the algorithm. !
The native %pl scales algorithms have been notoriously finicky (sensitive).
Some strange things do happen.
You're lucky in that your datasets start with 0.0.
Try the following for example deleting the first 2 data points from your dataset and report back here what you get for the 2 cases you have reported above.
Are your plot windows re-sizeable ? If so, what happens when you arbitrarily resize with the mouse drag ?
If you feel particularly adventurous, and brave, and have the time, try using log scales and see what happens. The best description I have is that it's a bit like playing the Casino at Monte-Salford _________________ ''Computers (HAL and MARVIN excepted) are incredibly rigid. They question nothing.
