Is there any way (a trick) to use the %eq format within a %gr drawing surface or are we restricted to having to use the draw_characters@ and have to 'split up' an equation into chunks and draw each seperately, changing fonts as we go along and calculating all the relevant metrics bit byit as one goes along to position the chunks of text accordingly ?

e.g. a simple example being to draw a circle and in it's centre write A=pi r 2 (but in equation form with the pi symbol and the superscript for the square.

For example, Maybe there's some way to overlay a transparent window (containing the %eq format) over the top of one containing the drawing surface and linking the 2 together with the %eq window always on top of the %gr ?

You can draw characters using a font like the Symbol font but it will mean a lot of messing about.

You can use %eq to create an equation separately, then use a screen capture to save the image and then draw it in a %gr region.

Off hand, I don't know how to do a transparent overlay.
