|
|
I purchased Salford FTN77 PE + Clear Win+ Ad-on + Plato Ad-on in 2001.
At that time I installed it on my desktop PC under Win98 and used it
with no problem.
Now I just installed it on my laptop under Win XP Pro. I am puzzled with
the following:
1) New laptop installation , under " Salford Software" has only the
following icons:
ClearWin+ Browser; Salford SCION Icon Editor;
Salford Windows debugger; Salford Plato; Salford Plato Readme
At the same time, on my desktop PC installation, I have the following
additional files/icons:
ClearWin+ Example (text file); FTN77 Readme (text file); FTN77 Library
Reference Manual (pdf), FTN77 Users Guide (pdf)
My question is: I can't remember whether these additional files were
created after original installation or I downloaded them later ?
If they are supposed to be created upon installation, why are they not
present on my laptop ?
2) If I run ClearWin+Browser icon (on both PC and laptop) I get the
following message:
" WBDOS.386 has not been installed. Please install from your release
disk or contact your distributor."
Will somebody explain this to me please.
3) I run normally "Salford Windows debugger" on my PC, but on my
laptop I get the following message:
" This application has failed to start because salflibc.dll was not
found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem"
Please explain. Is it related to the question nr. 1 ?

The version of FTN77 that you have installed is not suitable for Windows NT, 2000, XP etc.
I do not recall if there is a choice during installation (between Win98 and WinNT) with the release that you are using. If there is no choice during installation then you will need to upgrade to a version that can be installed on Windows NT etc. |

Try emailing to accounts@silverfrost.com.
Alternatively you could download FTN95 from www.silverfrost.com. FTN95 is almost fully compatible with FTN77 (i.e. your Fortran 77 code will run on FTN95).
