Dan,

symbol_size is only specified once and applies to all curves with symbols in the plot. Maximum permitted value is 16.

I'm using 8.2, so clearly there is a difference with the earlier release. It may be the call lock@(ithread) and call unlock@(ithread)

Thanks Paul, It is indeed an unexpected result which you have confirmed.
